FIRE creator Haas speaks Tues

CHICAGO FIRE co-creator and executive producer Derek Haas will take center stage at First Tuesdays with the Midwest Independent Film Festival as he headlines the fest’s Producers Panel this Tuesday, March 5th. Haas created the hit NBC drama along with his writing partner Michael Brandt. Haas’ writing credits include the Angelina Jolie thriller WANTED (which also shot in Chicago a bit), 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS and 3:10 TO YUMA.
The Producers Panel will take place prior to the film program for the evening (which includes Illinois indie and Ebert pick QWERTY right in the theater at 6:30 p.m. More info about the panel and Haas at http://www.midwestfilm.org.
First Tuesdays with the Midwest Independent Film Festival are hosted at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., the Producers Panel with Derek Haas begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Film program screens at 7:30 p.m. and includes a post-show Q&A with the filmmakers as well as a catered reception following the festival.
