Green Dot Signs Director Robert Jitzmark

LA-based production company Green Dot Films has signed award-winning Swedish director Robert Jitzmark for commercial representation. Jitzmark was previously represented in the U.S. at Hungry Man.

“Robert is a kind, funny and creatively gifted man,” says Green Dot Films Executive Producer Darren Foldes. “It’s a pleasure to work with someone who has a very clear idea of what they want, can get people in agreement to help execute his ideas, and then will go on to exceed expectations with the final piece of work.”

Jitzmark’s debut spot for Green Dot, the recently-launched :30 “Hot Streak” for California Lotto out of David&Goliath, El Segundo, CA, displays the flair for visual comedy that has been his trademark over a decade of award-winning work in both the U.S. and Europe, most recently for brands such as Puma, Mini Cooper, McDonalds, the French Ministry of Health, Peugot, Sony Playstation, IKEA, Peugot, Falcon Beer, Canal+ and MTV.

He also helmed an acclaimed series of spots for French condom manufacturer Inpes, as well as a popular Vybemobile spot featuring a crooning, toupee-wearing Snoop Dogg. His spots for Swedish Fish took home gold at the 2009 ADC Festival in New York.

Jitzmark began his filmmaking career at Stockholm’s RMI Berghs School of Communication, where the infamous horror short he wrote, directed and produced, “Toxic Demon Paint”, won him the school’s top prize. Upon graduation in 1995, he joined the production company Petterson Akerlund, where he acquired a wealth of hands-on experience under the tutelage of legendary commercial, music video and feature director Jonas Akerlund.

After five years at Petterson Akerlund, Jitzmark moved on to Mekano, where he continued to hone his comedic skills with spots for Sprite, Snickers, the Finnish National Lottery among many others. His 2001 Hyundai spot won an International Andy Award as well as recognition as “the gayest commercial of all time” from gay.com/planetout.

In 2003, Jitzmark co-founded the Stockholm-based production company Camp David, which is still going strong.
