First Tueadys with Producer Sam Kitt

Come be a part of the 2011 season launch of The Midwest Independent Film Festival with the much anticipated Chicago premiere of the SXSW selection “Cherry” starring Kyle Gallner, Laura Allen, Esai Morales and Chicago Actor Kirk Anderson.

Confirmed for the Tuesday, February 1st premiere is producer Sam Kitt, former president of Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks and former Director of Acquisitions for Universal Pictures. Described by Variety as “one of the founders of the modern American independent film movement,” Kitt has worked extensively in both independent and studio filmmaking. In addition to bringing Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” to the studio, Kitt has collaborated with such filmmaker as Steven Soderbergh, Richard Linklater and Ron Howard.

Writer/Director Jeffrey Fine will also be in attendance for a post- screening discussion with the audience.

Be part of the 2011 kick off this Tuesday, February 1st at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark beginning at 6pm.
